“10 YEAR OLD BOY IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER BEING STRUCK BY HIT AND RUN VEHICLE IN HOLLENBECK AREA”

Los Angeles- On December 2, 2014, at approximately 5:35 p.m., a Vehicle vs. Pedestrian traffic collision occurred at the intersection of North Main Street and Sichel Street in Hollenbeck Area.  The victim, a 10 year old boy, and his 11 year old friend, were crossing North Main Street at Sichel Street in a marked crosswalk when the 10 year old was struck by a dark colored vehicle traveling southbound on North Main Street.  The 11 year old was not harmed.

 

Video footage shows the driver in the vehicle swerving to avoid striking the young boy, however, the driver never stops and continues southbound on North Main Street.  

 

The victim was transported to LAC+USC Medical Center by paramedics from LAFD.  He suffered a head trauma, a pelvic fracture, and internal bleeding.  He is listed in critical condition.
