Police Respond to Early Morning Home Invasion/Shots Fired Call
On 12-04-14, at approx 0456 hrs, WFPD dispatch received a call about shots being heard in the neighborhood north of Flood Street. Responding officers located the residence in the 1100 blk of Roosevelt. Reportedly, the victim was asleep at his residence in the 1100 blk of Taylor when he heard a "boom." The victim said that 4 armed black males entered his residence calling out his nickname and demanded money. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and then drove him to another family members home in the 1100 blk of Roosevelt. Once there, the victim was made to kick open the door and demand the money from the family member to give to them. The suspects and original victim exited the residence and the victim ran away. As he fled, one of the suspects shot at him but missed. The suspects fled the area in a dark colored vehicle described as a Chevrolet Malibu type vehicle, possibly a rental car.
No one was injured or hit by the gunfire. Shell casings were recovered on scene. The case is currently under investigation.
