Significant storm expected late Wednesday, wind gusts to 60 MPH in the Sacramento Area, 2-3" of Rain
The Sacramento Office of the National Weather Service has issued a severe weather alert for the Sacramento region, including the City of Folsom, beginning late Wednesday evening through early Friday morning.
This will be an intense storm packed into less than 24 hours.
This storm will bring sustained southeast winds from 25-40 MPH in the Valley, with gusts to 60 MPH. Mountain areas will see gusts 70 MPH+ in spots.
Rainfall will be intense with 2-3 inches in the valley and heavy snow, 7-8000 feet, dropping to 5000 feet.
Wind carried debris, downed trees, and localized urban street flooding will be likely.
Residents are urged to prepare for this storm by removing debris from drains and gutters. Store outdoor furniture in areas away from strong winds.
Additional updates from the City of Folsom will be provided in the next 48-72 hours as conditions warrant.
