Brandon McBrier named Kosciusko County Squad Sergeant for Bremen Post
Kosciusko County – The Indiana State Police recently announced the promotion of Brandon McBrier to the rank of sergeant to serve as the squad leader for troopers that work in Kosciusko County. The Bremen Post covers Kosciusko, Marshall, St. Joseph, and Elkhart Counties. Sergeant McBrier earned this promotion through written testing and a competitive interview process.
McBrier, originally from Auburn Indiana, graduated from DeKalb High School. He attended college at Manchester University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
McBrier is a 15-year veteran of the department and started his career at the Lowell Post in 1999 after graduating from the Indiana State Police Academy. McBrier transferred to the Bremen Post in 2001 where he has worked as a trooper in both Elkhart and Kosciusko Counties.
During his tenure with the department, McBrier has twice been named Trooper of the District and in 2014 was named Trooper of the Year by Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter.
McBrier has been a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon for ten years in addition to being a Field Training Officer for the past seven years. McBrier is also an active member of the Meth Suppression Section responding to dozens of meth labs each year.
McBrier spends his free time as a deacon and youth group leader at the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Warsaw and has volunteered as a Camp Director for Camp Living Water. McBrier resides in Kosciusko County with his wife Beth, of 18 years, and their four children Jeremy, Blake, Brianna and Branson.
