2818/Rockwood now open. No life-threating injuries

AVOID 2818/Rockwood for the next few hours due to traffic accident. 2818 NB lanes are closed SB congested.

Multi-Vehicles are involved and at least 3 people transported to local hospital. Will update when roadway reopens.

Bryan Police Investigate Major Accident

On December 9, 2014 at 5:50pm Officers responded to the 100 block of Harvey Mitchell Parkway (FM 2818) near Rockwood for a major accident. A silver Chevy Impala was traveling southbound in the outside lane. The driver of the Impala veered into the inside lane striking a silver Ford Focus also traveling southbound. This forced the Ford Focus into oncoming traffic. The Ford Focus collided head-on with a green Honda Civic traveling northbound pinning the driver inside. The Chevy Impala was spinning across the northbound lanes and was struck by a black Toyota Corolla. Most of Harvey Mitchell Pkwy was closed for a little over an hour and has since reopened. All occupants were wearing a seatbelt.

Occupants:
Chevy Impala – one male driver 25 years of age from Mexico. Not injured. Cited for Fail to Maintain Single Lane and No Driver’s License.

Ford Focus – one male driver 21 years of age. Was treated and released from St. Joseph Hospital

Honda Civic - 30 year old male driver pinned in vehicle. Two male passengers ages 28 and 22. All Three transported to St. Joseph Hospital with non-life threatening injuries

Toyota Corolla - 26 year old female driver not injured. One male 28 year old passenger not injured. Two children: 4 year old female and 2 year old male transported to College Station Medical Center by personal vehicle with minor injuries.
