Mark your calendars for the Chula Vista Public Library's holiday programs! They're free, festive, fun and full of information!

Food for Fines: Wipe away those overdue fines and help people in need up through December 24. Bring nonperishable food items such as canned vegetables or meats, or dried food items such as pasta or rice, to any of our three library branches, and we'll waive your fines ($1 per item, max. $10). In partnership with Altrusa International, Inc. of Chula Vista. All proceeds benefit South Bay Community Services. You're encouraged to donate even if you don't have any fines.

“The Food for Fines program is very popular with our library community,” says Library Director Betty Waznis. “It’s so heartwarming to see how many people bring in donations of food, even if they have no library fines. Especially at this time of year, our residents really join together to help those less fortunate with one of life’s basic necessities.”
