Over 180 police officers are gathered for dinner before hitting the streets of Alameda County to look for drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The Avoid the 21 Winter Mobilization started today and will continue through the first of the year. Alameda County law enforcement agencies will be deploying extra officers every night looking to reduce drunk and drugged driving collisions and fatalities. LPD has officers at the dinner and they will be on patrol tonight in Livermore looking for impaired drivers. Please drive safely and arrange a sober ride home if you are going to be drinking.
