2014 Holiday Safety Message
The busy holiday travel season is knocking at our door and we want to remind you that if you are planning on traveling for the holidays to take every precaution to secure your residences. Historically the months of December and January are when we experience higher than average rates of attempted or completed burglaries. Please make sure all windows and doors are locked and alarm systems are set if you have them. If you are leaving for more than a few days we can check on your residence for you while you are away. The house check request form can be found on the town website or by stopping by the police department.
We did experience a daytime forced entry burglary last week on Wild Pasture Rd and there have been reports of burglaries in surrounding communities. We ask that you immediately report any suspicious activity by calling 911 or 772-2929.
I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the Kensington Police Department to wish you and your families a wonderful and safe holiday season.
