11/18/14- 100 Block of Six Mile Rd- Fraud- The victim reports that he responded to an ad on Craig’s List for employment and was told that he was to cash a check and send the difference in his pay back to the company. After cashing two checks and then getting notified by the bank the checks were fraudulent the victim was unable to contact the person that signed him up. The case is still under investigation.
11/18/14- 5000 Block of Sutton Rd- Larceny- The victim had a $50 dollar bill stolen from a hidden compartment in his vehicle. The vehicle was parked in his driveway when the crime happened. There are no suspects and no witnesses.
11/18/14- 6000 Block of Whitmore Lake Rd- Larceny - The victim reports that three metal shelving units were taken from the business. There were no suspects and nothing of evidentiary value.
11/20/14- 7000 Block of Lakeshore Dr- Fraud- The victim reports $1200 was taken from her bank account and sent to various locations via Western Union. The victim was not sure how the person(s) obtained her information. The case is currently being investigated by the Northfield Township detective.
11/24/14- 5000 Block of Pontiac Tr- Larceny- The victim reports that several pieces of jewelry were stolen. There is a possible suspect in the case and the case is being investigated by the responding officer.
11/26/14- 100 Block of Emerald Circle- Damaged Property- The victim reports that her vehicle was damaged by a known subject who was seen fleeing the area. The victim’s car had the front windshield smashed out. The case has been forwarded to the Washtenaw County Prosecutors Office for prosecution.
11/26/14- 100 Block of Emerald Circle- Damaged Property- There were two unrelated vehicle s damaged in the same area on Emerald Cr. In this case the vehicles had the tires punctured and flatted. There are no known suspects and no witnesses.
The Northfield Township Police would like to remind all citizens to lock your vehicles while parked. It is also advisable to remove any valuables from the vehicle including loose change. In most Larceny from Autos, the thieves are looking for small valuables like, money, phones, iPods, laptops or any other small items. Also with the holiday season upon us citizens are urged not to leave presents in vehicles. To protect yourself from becoming a victim, please secure those items inside your home. Please report any suspicious activity immediately so that the officers can respond and determine what the circumstances are.
