The Chula Vista Public Library has plans for your holiday fun, as well as great ways to help local residents and those less fortunate.

Food for Fines: Wipe away those overdue fines and help people in need up through December 24. Bring nonperishable food items such as canned vegetables or meats, or dried food items such as pasta or rice, to any of our three library branches, and we'll waive your fines ($1 per item, max. $10). In partnership with Altrusa International, Inc. of Chula Vista. All proceeds benefit South Bay Community Services. You're encouraged to donate even if you don't have any fines.

AARP Seeks Tax Preparers for Library: Serve as a volunteer tax preparer in our Civic and/or South Chula Vista branches. Seeking candidates with some knowledge of tax law and moderate computer skills. Training from Mon, Jan 12 - Fri, Jan 23. Mileage reimbursement for eligible Tax-Aides. Please contact Donley Cates at [email protected]

Introducing Pronunciator! A fun, free and easy way to learn any of 80 languages. The program includes ESL (English as a Second Language) for 50 non-English languages. Simply go to the library's website: http://www.chulavistalibrary.com, click on the Pronunciator icon, and register with your library card!
