WPD is currently investigating a distraction style burglary and theft, which occurred within the Borough at approximately 11am on 12-20-14. During this crime a w/m actor entered a residence posing water authority employee to check for a contamination. While distracting the lone resident in the basement, another actor entered the home and removed a safe from a second floor bedroom. Actors were operating a white van. WPD is requesting that anyone with information contact the police department. Any residents approached for home water system checks, are urged to contact WPD immediately.
