At approximately 2:10pm; a fire began at the Edison sub-station at Rialto Ave/Waterman Ave in southeast San Bernardino. Fire Crews and Edison are assessing damages and restoring power safety. As of 4pm, approximately 19,000 Edison customers, including 27 SBCUSD locations are still without power.
Thankfully, SBCUSD schools are on winter break and the impact is minimal. Sites may have lost internet and phones due to the outage. The District is monitoring the situation and providing direction to school sites. Employees scheduled to work as normal on Tuesday should report as normal.
