*Update* #LASD Homicide Bureau Death Investigation, 5000 block of Ocean Front Walk, Marina Del Rey
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a male adult, who was discovered on Monday, December 22, 2014, on the beach near the 5000 block of Ocean Front Walk, Marina Del Rey.
Detectives have learned that at approximately 1:50 p.m., a passerby on the beach found the victim, a male adult, lying unresponsive on the sand, near the water’s edge.
Reports indicate that a resident called 9-1-1 to report that the victim was down on the beach. At least one citizen administered CPR on the victim, before Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the man dead.
The identity of the victim is unknown at this time and the exact cause of death will be determined by an autopsy at a later date.
Additionally, a rigid inflatable boat was located a short distance away from where the victim was discovered. Detectives are attempting to determine the correlation, if any, between the victim and the empty boat.
There is no additional information available at this time.
