The 84-year-old missing man, Zosimo Liong, was located by searchers at a restaurant at Sepulveda Blvd and Chatsworth Avenue, this evening about 9:45 PM. He was cold, had a cut lip, and was a bit disoriented, but he was otherwise okay.
Police notified CEMP (California Emergency Mobile Patrol), a civilian search and rescue group, this afternoon, after a police K9 search lost the missing man's trail from his home.
A CEMP search dog picked up the missing man's scent where he had been last reported seen by a citizen who had seen the missing report on TV.
Two search dogs tracked Mr. Liong's trail up Van Nuys Boulevard, then west to Sepulveda and Chatsworth, where he was found in a restaurant. It was not immediately known how long the man had been there or how he had cut his lip. Mr. Liong was reunited with his family.
