At Risk Missing Adult
On Thursday, January 01, 2015, at about 10:00 AM, Gerald Fitzsimmons arrived home in San Ramon, CA. in good health and spirits. Gerald explained that after being lost in an unfamiliar area and losing cellular service, he chose to drive home from the Palm Desert, CA area to San Ramon.
On Wednesday, December 31, 2015, an officer from the Palm Desert Police Department, responded to the 46-000 block of Burroweed Ln., Palm Desert in reference to a report of an at-risk missing person.
This investigation determined that, Gerald Fitzsimmons, 71 years old from San Ramon, CA. left his home at about 8:00 AM on Wednesday, and was on his way to visit his brother in Palm Desert, CA. At about 8:30 PM and while in the Coachella Valley, Gerald contacted his brother via cellular phone for specific driving directions, at which point the brother noticed that Gerald was having a difficult time navigating and identifying his location. Gerald communicated being in the area of Monterey Ave. and Varner Rd. to his brother just moments before Gerald’s cellular telephone is believed to have lost power and disconnected. Gerald has not been seen or heard from since.
Gerald Fitzsimmons’ medical health, to include the suspected early stages of dementia, places him in significant risk. An extensive air and ground search of the area was conducted with no results.
Gerald Fitzsimmons is described as a white male adult, 6’05” tall, 250 lbs., blonde & white hair, blue eyes and light skin. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, dark golf shirt and dark jeans.
Gerald is believed to be driving a black 2015 Dodge Caravan Minivan CA#7HBW715.
