Montclair Emergency Shelter for the Homeless (MESH) will mobilize due to plummeting temperatures.

This emergency overnight shelter for the homeless will be open Jan 5 through January 9, 2015 at Union Baptist Church in the D.C. Hall located at Midland Ave, Montclair N.J. by MESH

Doors open at 9pm

Police Director DeMaio has advised that the Bloomfield police department will be available to provide transportation to the Montclair shelter for individuals within the Township who request help.

If you see a homeless individual or know of someone who is struggling please spread the word or call the Bloomfield police at 973 680 4141.

You can also request that a social worker do an outreach to a homeless individual to provide assistance by contacting the Bloomfield Department of Human Services at 973.680.4017. Please remember that individuals referred have the right to refuse services offered as long as they are competent and do not pose a risk to themselves or others.

MESH will also be providing hot meals 6 nights a week from 6:30-8:30 at one of the locations below. Last call for seating is at 7:30. Transportation from the café to the overnight shelter when open will be coordinated through the Bloomfield Recreation Department. Times and schedule of transport TBA.
