“It’s a new year, take the L.E.A.D!”

On January 9th, 2015, partnering organizations in support of law enforcement officers nationwide will promote a National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (L.E.A.D.). In light of recent negativity directed toward law enforcement nationally, there is a need to show law enforcement officers that our citizens recognize the difficult and sometimes impossible career they have chosen, in public service to us all.

Here in New Jersey we will show our support by holding a L.E.A.D. Rally on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 2:00 pm at The Performing Arts Center Neptune Township High School (exit 100 of the Garden State Parkway). We encourage all concerned citizens to attend and be a part of a national movement to show our support to Law Enforcement.

We are calling our nation’s citizens to action in support of law enforcement. Those citizens who appreciate law enforcement and are discouraged about the negative attention being given to law enforcement are encouraged take time on Friday, January 9th to show their support.

Please plan on attending. However, if you are unable to attend, please show your support on this day by doing something within your community. Take pictures and share them on social media.
If you have any media contacts reach out to them and ask them to cover the rally and any events that may be happening in your community.

It's time for communities to show law enforcement that citizens recognize the difficult and sometimes impossible career they have chosen, in public service to us all.

Here are a few ways you can show your support on January 9 :
- Change your profile picture to the attached photo
- Wear blue clothing
- Shine a blue light from your home
- Send a card of support to your local police department
- Organize an event in support of your officers
- Advertise your support through local media
Most importantly, if you see a police officer, THANK a police officer.

It is time for us to be heard – Law Enforcement is NOT the enemy!
