WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THURSDAY TO 10 AM EST FRIDAY
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GAYLORD HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW FROM 1 PM THURSDAY TO 10 AM EST FRIDAY.
SNOW WILL DEVELOP AFTER 3 PM THURSDAY WITH THE HEAVIEST SNOW EXPECTED BETWEEN 5 PM AND 11 PM. ADDITIONAL HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL DEVELOP AFTER MIDNIGHT THURSDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.
* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION...3 TO 6 INCHES THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE WHERE LAKE EFFECT SNOW BANDS DEVELOP AFTER MIDNIGHT THURSDAY NIGHT.
* SNOWFALL RATES...UP TO 1 INCH PER HOUR DURING THE PERIOD OF HEAVIEST SNOW.
* VISIBILITIES...SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL GUST TO NEAR 25 MPH DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING BEFORE SHIFTING NORTHWEST OVERNIGHT. THIS WILL RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AND GREATLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES WITH LOCALIZED WHITEOUT CONDITIONS.
* WIND CHILLS...BETWEEN ZERO AND -10 FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. COVER EXPOSED SKIN, AND BRING IN YOUR PETS.
