NHPD to begin using Nixle - a community messaging service. 
Those interested in receiving up to date alerts and advisories regarding the New Hartford community, can now sign up to receive text and/or email messages from NHPD via Nixle.
New Hartford Police plan to use Nixle as another means to keep the public informed regarding matters concerning public safety. These messages may be that a road is closed due to an accident or to alert residents of a crime in the area. From time to time, we may also use this service in partnership with other departments in the Town as well as the Village of New Hartford.
Signing up to receive these alerts can be as simple as texting 13413 to 888777 from your mobile device. Or, you may sign up online. See the image attached for more information regarding registering online.
