Advisory

Cold weather causing water leaks

Due to the unpleasantly cold weather we experienced the past few days, our officers have responded to multiple calls for broken pipes (i.e. water leaks). We are encouraging all homeowners to personally check or have someone they know check their properties if possible, especially if their homes were not winterized. We also encourage residents in the area to keep an eye on neighboring properties and contact the police department should they see (or hear) any water leaking.

If you have not already, consider filling out an emergency contact information form and filing it with the Surf City Police Department. The information you provide is kept in-house and enables our officers to contact you in the unfortunate event an issue occurs at your property. Forms can be picked up at police headquarters or can be found online on the Borough’s webpage under the Other Information tab (URL has been provided below).
