Announces Arrest For:
Felony Possession With Intent Sell/Deliver Marijuana; Felony Possession of Marijuana; Felony Maintain Dwelling/Place to Keep Controlled Substances, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and Three Counts of Misdemeanor Child Abuse
The Southern Pines Police Department announces the following arrest from a collaborative investigation conducted by the Southern Pines Police Department and the Moore County Sheriff’s Office. This arrest is the result of the execution of a search warrant at 583 S. Gaines Street, Southern Pines, North Carolina on January 8, 2015. As a result of this search, 1247 grams (2.7 pounds) of Marijuana, multiple items or drug paraphernalia and $377.00 in United States currency was seized.
Lashaun Laytoya Newkirk, 35 years of age of Southern Pines, North Carolina was arrested on January 9, 2015 and charged with the following offenses:
Felony Possession of Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substances, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and three (3) counts of Misdemeanor Child Abuse.
Lashaun Laytoya Newkirk appeared before a Moore County Magistrate and is incarcerated at the Moore County Detention Center under a $10,000 secure bond pending a hearing in Moore County District Court on January 27, 2015.
