Sexual Assault at Culver City High School
On January 13th 2014, a Culver City High School student (a minor victim) reported to a CCHS employee several sexual assaults involving a number of different Culver City High School students. One of the involved suspects was an eighteen year old adult (Jeremy Weaver). The other alleged suspects were minors. Three of the aforementioned sexual assaults occurred on Culver City High School grounds. All of these sexual assaults, three of which involved Weaver, occurred during the month of December 2013. CCHS representatives immediately reported the incident to the Culver City Police Department. CCPD investigators immediately began working with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and on January 15th 2014, Weaver was arrested.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed four felony charges against Weaver, including three counts of illegal sex acts with a minor and one count of dissuading a witness; no charges were filed on any of the other alleged suspects. Weaver posted $50,000 bail and on June 3rd 2014, he was convicted of one count of illegal sex acts with a minor. On July 8th 2014, Weaver was sentenced to five years probation.
