Full Notification

A Canyon resident received a call today, on her cell phone, from a caller claiming to be from the IRS. The scammer provides a false name and badge number. He informs the tax payer that they are being sued for tax evasion. A specific dollar amount is provided. The scammer is calling from 775-410-9097. This number has been associated with a prior scam alert. To avoid becoming a victim of this scam, hang up the phone. The caller might call and make a couple of threating comments. There is NO VALIDITY TO THIS CALL. HANG UP. This and other cases similar to this one is under investigation by federal agent.
