Please share this information: Once the water is back on, we will be under a BOIL WATER notice until further notice. That means you need to boil water for two minutes (at a vigorous boil) before drinking. We are hoping the leak to the main line from the elevated water tower and the valve will be repaired by 5 pm.


Here's what's going on with the water (or lack thereof): A leak has occurred on the main line leading from the elevated tower and the valve which needs to be activated to proceed with the repairs is frozen. Workers tell me the new valve should be in place soon and hopefully, we will again have water service by 5:00 or so. There will be a BOIL WATER NOTICE! Anytime the water pressure drops as low as it has, a boil water notice is required. We’ll keep you updated via this FB page and through the Police Department’s Nixle program. (You can go to the city’s website to sign up for that – and get important information via text.) Remember, once the water is back on you will need to boil water – vigorously, for two minutes before drinking.
