On 01/27/2015 just before 1:00 pm, 27 year old Christopher Lynn Fugate was located and apprehended at a residence in Hicksville, Ohio by the US Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Taskforce. Fugate was wanted out of Steuben County, Indiana for allegedly violating terms of his probation following a class B felony conviction of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor in 2012. Fugate was released from the Indiana Department of Correction in early January of 2015 and placed on probation in Steuben County where Fugate allegedly failed to comply with his probation officer. Fugate also allegedly failed to register as a sex or violent offender following his release from prison, and additional charges may be filed. Steuben County Sheriff’s detectives reached out to US Marshals Service Senior Inspector William Boothe who is the Sex Offender Investigations Coordinator for the Northern District of Indiana to assist in the locating and apprehending of Fugate after he absconded from Steuben County Probation. The fugitive investigation led the US Marshals Service to Hicksville, Ohio where Fugate was located. Fugate was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio and is awaiting extradition back to Steuben County, Indiana. The US Marshals Service was assisted in Ohio by the Hicksville Police Department.
