The IRS does not call you and threaten arrest if you do not pay them over the telephone.
Several Shorewood residents have reported that they received a telephone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS. They state that you owe back taxes or a tax penalty and that if you do not pay them now - over the telephone that they will have an arrest warrant issued. The IRS does not do this. These people are trying to get money from you. Do not give them your credit card or any personal information. . Please be sure to share this information with any friends or relatives who may be easily intimidated by someone on the phone.
