Early this morning, Greene County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a home in the 4300 block of S Troy in southwest Greene County after the homeowner reported their silver 1998 Dodge Ram truck, Missouri license plate #8MV-659, stolen from their driveway. The homeowner witnessed a white male with dark hair, possibly in his 20s, pull into their driveway in a black Kia Optima then drive away in the Dodge Ram.

Shortly after, a resident who lives in the 3300 block of W Lark called to report their black 2014 Dodge Quad Cab 4x4 truck, Missouri license plate #6SW-597, stolen from the garage after accidentally leaving the garage door open overnight with the keys in the center console. The resident witnessed the suspect(s) driving away in the vehicle as well.

While investigating this incident, a third Greene County resident at the 3300 block of W Erie also reported their gray Buick Rainier, Missouri personalized license plate SABRINA, had been stolen.

After further investigation, it was determined the Kia Optima left at the location on S Troy had also been stolen from the driveway of a residence at 3500 W Suzanne Pl. The owners stated they had left the keys in the ignition overnight.

GCSO Deputies continue to investigate these incidents to determine if they are connected and if the same suspect(s) are involved. Sheriff Jim Arnott states "These are all unfortunate events but crimes of opportunity. We strongly urge people not to leave running vehicles unattended and to remove any valuables including garage door openers and keys from your vehicles."
