Spencer County: A Louisville man spent his day behind bars after being caught speeding and more.
Around 10:04 this morning, Master Trooper Brian LaRoche was patrolling Interstate 64 near the 61 mile marker, when he observed a black 2004 BMW sedan traveling eastbound at 103 miles per hour. Master Trooper LaRoche caught the BMW and identified the driver as Logan W. Davis, 21, Louisville, KY. LaRoche, while speaking with Davis, detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Troopers Justin Mears and Philip Lubbers assisted Master Trooper LaRoche, and later found Davis to be under the influence of marijuana. Davis was arrested without incident and transported to the Spencer County Jail for Operating While Intoxicated with a Controlled Substance.
The Indiana State Police would like to remind all drivers that if they observe motorists driving in a reckless manner, call 911 immediately. Inform the dispatch operator of your location, direction of travel, a description of the vehicle that is driving recklessly, and what the inappropriate driving behavior is. Your phone call could help stop the reckless driver before their actions continue to endanger other motorists.
