MAYOR AMATO WOULD LIKE TO ADVISE RESIDENTS THAT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A WIND ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 6 AM EST SATURDAY.
* WINDS...NORTHWEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS AS HIGH AS 50 MPH.
* TIMING...LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT
* IMPACTS...THE STRONG WINDS COULD LEAD TO DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS ESPECIALLY IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. SCATTERED TREE AND POWER LINE DAMAGE IS ALSO POSSIBLE.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
MOTORISTS SHOULD USE EXTRA CAUTION...ESPECIALLY THOSE IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.
RESIDENTS SHOULD SECURE LIGHT-WEIGHT OUTDOOR OBJECTS AND GARBAGE CANS.
MOVING INTO SUPER BOWL SUNDAY, IN THE EVENING AND THE OVERNIGHT, ACCUMULATING SNOW MIXED WITH SOME SLEET IS POSSIBLE INTO MONDAY.
POWER OUTAGES:
If a power outage occurs call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) to report their outage or click the “Report Outage” link on: www.firstenergycorp.com via smart phone. In the event of downed utility wires, you should immediately report them to JCP&L at the number above and the Berkeley Township Police Department at 732-341-6600. Residents should never go near a downed power line, even if they think it is no longer carrying electricity.
