Snow Emergency Declared in Milan Effective 12PM, 2-1-15
Due to anticipated heavy snows beginning tonight and extending throughout the day Sunday, a snow emergency has been declared in Milan effective at 12 PM, Sunday, 2-1-15. This means that no parking is permitted on any city streets throughout the duration of the snow emergency. Cars found parked on the streets in violation of this declaration are subject to immediate impound. This action has been taken as a matter of public safety, to enable safe and effective plowing operations, and to insure the efficient removal of accumulating snow. Even though the snow emergency does not go into effect until noon on Sunday, we are requesting that residents remove their cars from the public streets well ahead of time, as plowing crews will be out as soon as conditions indicate. Last year several snow emergencies were declared, and we received very good cooperation from citizens in terms of compliance with the parking restrictions. As soon as conditions indicate, the snow emergency will be lifted. Please see the City's website or Facebook for additional information.
