Three South Carolina Men Arrested in Multiple Breaking/Entering and Larceny Ring

The Sheriff’s Office had received reports of a storage unit in Green Creek and several at the Tryon Store house being broken into. After Investigators began following up they discovered one unit at the Tryon Store House had a motorcycle resembling the one stolen from the storage unit in Green Creek.

Further investigation led detectives to Inman S.C. where the stolen motorcycle and other stolen parts that had been taken from the storage unit in Green Creek. Along with the assistance of Investigators from Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, James Pierce was arrested for Possession of Stolen Vehicle.

Polk County Sheriff detectives also arrested Dustin Eubanks and Lee Matthew Cowan in the Breaking and Entering and Larceny of the motorcycle. Further evidence determined that these defendants were responsible for the breaking and/or entering and larceny to several storage units located at Tryon Store House storage units.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office was able to recover nearly all of the stolen property from the storage units. Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, Campobello and Landrum police Department’s also assisted in the recovery of property and arrests.

James Evertt Pierce, 43 of Blue Ridge Road Campobello, SC was arrested and charged with 4-Counts of Breaking and Entering, 3-Counts of Larceny after Breaking and Entering, 3-Counts of Conspiracy to Commit Breaking and Entering, Larceny of Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Stolen Goods. Pierce is in custody at the Polk County Detention Facility under a $75,000 secure bond. He is represented by court appointed attorney and has a next court appearance of February 4.

Lee Matthew Cowan, 29 of S. Bomar Ave. Landrum, SC was arrested and charged with 3-Counts of Breaking and Entering, 2-Counts of Larceny after Breaking and Entering, 3-Counts of Conspiracy to Commit Breaking and Entering, Larceny of Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Stolen Goods. Cowan is in custody at the Polk County Detention Facility under an $80,000 secure bond. He is scheduled for a first appearance today to determine legal representation.

Dustin Phillip Eubanks, 33 of Pen Del Road Inman, SC was arrested and charged with 3-Counts of Breaking and Entering, 2-Counts of Larceny after Breaking and Entering, 3-Counts of Conspiracy to Commit Breaking and Entering, Larceny of Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Stolen Goods. Eubanks is currently out on bond and is represented by court appointed attorney and has a next court appearance of February 4.
