More winter weather coming for the weekend into early next week. Long-term event, no significant snowfall expected.

Good morning – Your Emergency Management Team has gotten the following weather information for the weekend and early next week.

For your situational awareness, NWS-Gray is reporting another round of winter weather this weekend:

·         This is a long-term/long-duration storm without significant snow fall rates.

·         Snow will start overnight on Saturday and continue through Tuesday morning.

·         Anticipate two inches of snow every six hours with a chance of heavier snow fall on Monday night into Tuesday.

·         Total accumulation over the course of 48-60 hours will be one foot.

·         Coastal Rockingham County may experience warmer temperatures that may make the snow a little heavier than elsewhere in the State but the snow should be light and fluffy for the most part.

While this does not reach the criteria for a winter storm warning, it will have similar effects due to the long timeframe and lingering effects.
