30-yr old Springfield man charged after fleeing from GCSO Deputies in stolen vehicle last week
On Friday, 02/06/15, Greene County Sheriff's Deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers flooded the area of I-44and James River Freeway to search for the driver of a 2005 silver Mustang that led GCSO Deputies in a pursuit before crashing twice, running away from the vehicle the second time. GCSO Deputies and MSHP Trooper secured a perimeter using both eyes on the ground and in the air with the assistance of MSHP Air Support.
After a brief search of the area, Springfield resident 30-year old NATHANIEL C PERSINGER (white male, 5-09, 165 lbs, blonde/blue) was apprehended with theuse of GCSO K9 Lor where he was located hiding in heavy brush.
Although Persinger crashed the vehicle twice,he didn't strike any other vehicles and no one was hurt. Persinger sustained minor injuries which required medical attention.
"I'm extremely proud of the teamwork of the GCSO Deputies and MSHP Troopers which helped lead to a quick resolution and arrest in this case," stated Sheriff Jim Arnott.
It was determined after further investigation, the Mustang had been reported stolen out of Springfield earlier in the day.
Persinger is being held in the Greene County Jail and the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged him with:
1 - Felony count of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle (1st Degree)
1 - Felony count of Resisting Arrest by Fleeing
