Winter Storm Warning in effect-6pm tonight 2/16 until noon EST Tuesday 2/17. No parking on roadways during snow removal.

Residents should prepare to have any / all vehicles parked in the roadway removed from municipal streets during snow removal efforts. This will facilitate snow removal efforts as well as making roads passable for emergency vehicles.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON EST TUESDAY. ...DANGEROUSLY COLD WEATHER THIS MORNING WILL BE FOLLOWED BY A SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL TONIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY, AND THEN A RETURN TO EXCESSIVE COLD THURSDAY AND FRIDAY... .A WEEK OF HIGH IMPACT WINTER WEATHER IS AT HAND. THIS MORNINGS TEMPERATURES ARE IN THE PROCESS OF NEARING RECORDS. WIND CHILL WAS NEAR 35 BELOW ZERO IN THE POCONOS AND 10 TO 20 BELOW ZERO OVER MUCH OF THE REMAINDER OF OUR AREA. A QUICK HITTING SNOW EVENT OCCURS TONIGHT AND ENDS BY MID MORNING TUESDAY. THE OUTLOOK BEYOND...IS FOR A PERIOD OF ACCUMULATIVE SNOW SHOWERS OR SQUALLS LATE WEDNESDAY FOLLOWED BY A RETURN OF NEAR RECORD COLD THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES TEMPERATURES BOTH THURSDAY AND FRIDAY WILL PROBABLY AVERAGE 25 TO 30 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL! ...WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EST THIS MORNING... ...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON EST TUESDAY... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON EST TUESDAY. THIS WARNING REPLACES THE WINTER STORM WATCH PREVIOUSLY IN EFFECT.

* LOCATIONS...ALL OF DELAWARE...MARYLAND`S EASTERN SHORE AND THE SOUTHEAST THIRD OF NEW JERSEY INCLUDING WILMINGTON...DOVER AND GEORGETOWN DELAWARE AS WELL AS CAPE MAY AND ATLANTIC CITY NEW JERSEY.

* HAZARD TYPES...DANGEROUS COLD THIS MORNING... THEN 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW TONIGHT WHICH WILL END MID OR LATE MORNING TUESDAY.

* WIND CHILL VALUES...AS LOW AS 15 TO 20 DEGREES BELOW ZERO.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...4 TO 8 INCHES.

* TIMING...DANGEROUS WIND CHILL WILL LET UP LATE THIS MORNING. SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE AREA BETWEEN 6 PM AND 10 PM AND BE MODERATE TO HEAVY AT TIMES OVERNIGHT THEN TAPER TO FLURRIES SOON AFTER DAYBREAK TUESDAY.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE TEENS TO LOWER 2OS DURING THE SNOW.

* WIND...WILL BE LIGHT TENDING BECOME NORTHERLY 10 TO 20 MPH TUESDAY MORNING.

* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF MILE AT TIMES BETWEEN 10 PM THIS EVENING AND 7 AM TUESDAY.

* IMPACTS...THE DANGEROUSLY COLD CONDITIONS MAY LEAD TO FROSTBITE AND HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. THE SNOW TONIGHT WILL CAUSE WIDESPREAD SLIPPERY TRAVEL ON ALL UNTREATED SURFACES. THE TUESDAY MORNING COMMUTE WILL PROBABLY BE SLOWER THAN NORMAL AS CLEAN UP EFFORTS ARE UNDERWAY WITH THE SNOW IN THE PROCESS OF WINDING DOWN BY MID MORNING.
