On February 17, 2015, the Montclair Police Department and the Montclair Fire Department will participate in the “2015 Battle of the Badges” blood drive in support of the American Red Cross. The blood drive will be held from 2 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. People who live, visit, or work in the City of Montclair are encouraged to support the public safety teams by making an appointment to schedule a blood donation. Donors must present identification at the time of making the blood donation.

This is our 1st year participating in this campaign. The past years were friendly rivalries between Police and Fire to see who could solicit the most donors toward this great cause. This year, however, Montclair Police and Fire Departments are instead teaming up and challenging neighboring public safety agencies in inter- and intra-county competitions in hopes of ultimately saving more lives. So far, Rialto Police Department, San Bernardino Police Department, California Highway Patrol Inland Division, Chino Police Department, Fontana Police Department, and Upland Police Department have joined the challenge this year. Please support the City of Montclair in this life-saving mission.
