UPDATE: Driver Killed in Morning Commute
Winter conditions contribute to fatal crash.
Clark County – This morning at approximately 7:54, troopers from the Indiana State Police in Sellersburg were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on northbound I-65 near the ten mile-marker just north of Sellersburg. When Master Trooper Tim Barclay arrived on scene he found a white, 2004, GMC pick-up truck, approximately 12 feet off the east side of the roadway. The vehicle was heavily damaged after striking a tree. It is unknown at this time why the vehicle left the roadway; however, indications at the crash scene indicate that the vehicle was traveling too fast for the current road conditions.
The driver, Dennis M. Davis, 64, 128 E. Maple Court, Clarksville, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clark County Coroner. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt. The official cause of death is pending an autopsy.
Troopers were assisted by INDOT Hoosier Helpers, and officers from the Sellersburg Fire Department, Sellersburg EMS and the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
