THIS IS A LENGTHY 3 DAY COLD SNAP FOR SULLIVANS ISLAND!
National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for Wednesday, Thursday & Friday Night February 18, 19 & 20, 2015. Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing on Sullivan's Island TONIGHT and remain below freezing all day Thursday and Friday. Not expecting above freezing temps until late Friday night.
Please take precautions NOW to protect any exposed water pipes from the freezing temperatures. When temps are forecasted to be below 32 degrees for more than four hours, SIWS recommends letting a couple cold water faucets run slightly. a stream about the size of a pencil tip. If your hot water heating source is located outside or in a non-heated area then let a hot water faucet run as well. Keeping water moving inside the pipes will help prevent water lines from freezing. If you are away from your home then have a friend or neighbor shut off your water at the customer shut of valve. Located next to your water meter. Stay tuned to local weather.
