From the Department of Public Works:

Due to the large amounts of snow, please be sure and clear out your mailboxes by the roadside. The large snow banks are blocking these boxes from view, which is causing more to be hit by the passing plows. If the drivers can see the mailboxes, they have a better ability to avoid them.

Also, please do not plow snow across the roadways. There is a state law for the state roads and a town ordinance on the town roads, which does prohibit this activity.
