Convention Center and Theater Traffic

The Rosemont Public Safety Department is expecting extremely heavy traffic in the River Road corridor between Devon Ave. on the North and Lawrence Ave. on the South. The Donald E Stephens Convention Center is hosting the Chicago RV and Camping Shows and the Transworld Jewelry, Fashion and Accessories Spring Show all day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The shows are open to the public and have traditionally drawn heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic to the area. In addition, The Rosemont Theater will be hosting, Tom Anders at 8 PM on Friday, Let It Be (Beatles cover) on Saturday at 2 PM and 8 PM and Elvis Lives on Sunday at 3:30 PM.
The combination of normal weekend traffic in addition to the large number of attendees at the various shows and the long-term road construction projects taking place in the area, has prompted the Public Safety Department to issue this Traffic Alert. The Department is expecting long travel times and heavy congestion throughout the weekend. Motorists not attending events along the River Rd. corridor are recommended to find alternative routes around the Rosemont area. Motorists attending events in Rosemont should allow themselves plenty of extra travel time.
