Advisory

WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 PM EST SATURDAY...

IF YOU DON'T NEED TO GO OUT - DON'T!
SAFETY IS THE KEY WORD IN WEATHER LIKE THIS...

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATION OF 3 TO 5 INCHES WITH ICE ACCUMULATION LESS THAN A TENTH OF AN INCH.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE AREA LATE TONIGHT. THE SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES. THE SNOW WILL THEN MIX WITH SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN TOWARD MORNING...CONTINUING INTO THE MID MORNING HOURS OF SATURDAY. AS TEMPERATURES SLOWLY WARM BY SATURDAY AFTERNOON...THE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE OVER TO A PERIOD OF RAIN. PRECIPITATION WILL QUICKLY END FROM WEST TO EAST SATURDAY EVENING.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED DUE TO REDUCED VISIBILITY AND SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW...SLEET...AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR
IMPOSSIBLE.
