... Winter Storm Warning in effect until 6 am CST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for southeast Missouri... southern Illinois... southwest
Indiana and west Kentucky... which is in effect until 6 am CST
Saturday. The Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in effect.

* Timing: late this afternoon through early Saturday morning.

* Amounts: snow and sleet accumulations will range from 2 to 4
inches across southwest Indiana to a half an inch or less across
much of southeast Missouri. Ice accumulations will range from
around a quarter inch over much of southeast Missouri to a tenth
of an inch over southwest Indiana. Areas that experience a
thunderstorm could see isolated higher amounts of ice... sleet or
snow.

* Impacts: travel conditions will deteriorate quickly as the
precipitation begins. Areas that get enhanced icing due to
thunderstorms could experience a few isolated power outages.
Conditions should improve as temperatures climb above freezing
from north to south early Saturday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
