Reminder to residents, change in Town Meeting process this year- now a 2 day event, voting on 03/10, Meeting on 03/14
“In an effort to assist people in attending town meeting, the Selectmen proposed, and last year the town voted, to ask the Selectmen to change the day of the deliberative session from Tuesday. The selectmen decided to change it to Saturday, 14 March. Therefore:
TUESDAY, March 10th is voting day (by law), at Camp Morgan Lodge from 8am-7pm, this is when it is your opportunity to vote for your public officials (a new SELECTMAN and all)!!! There are choices and your vote is important!
SATURDAY, March 14th is your typical town meeting day, at the lodge at 10am, this is your opportunity to discuss and act on the warrant, and the two significant money articles, the Town Hall and the Safety Building. Those articles will be taken up first (read come early).
SATURDAY will be what most of us know as “Town Meeting”.
This can be confusing because you vote for your public officials on Tuesday (by law), but have “the fun” AND VOTE for what you want to spend your tax dollars on is SATURDAY.
Both days are important.
‘Hope we’ll see you there.
