Advisory

City Offices Closed

The City of East Mountain will be closing their city offices today, due to the impending inclement weather. The Police Department will continue patrol duties as normal. If you have an emergency, Dial 911, for all non-emergency calls, dial 903-843-2541.

Stay home, Stay Warm. If you must travel today, remember to keep your distance from the vehicle in front of you. Slow Down, Look Twice. The number one cause all traffic collisions is due to speed and the inattention of drivers traveling. Also, be on the look out for black ice for today and tomorrow, use extreme caution while traveling. Black ice, sometimes called clear ice, refers to a thin coating of glazed ice on a surface. While not truly black, it is virtually transparent, allowing black asphalt/macadam roadways or the surface below to be seen through it—hence the term "black ice".
