Washington Man Arrested on OWI, Narcotics Charges
Daviess County: A Washington man was arrested overnight on drug and alcohol charges.
Around 11:23 P.M., Trooper Mitch Wier observed a maroon 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser disregard a stop sign at the intersection of County Road 150 North and County Road 450 West, northwest of Washington. Trooper Wier initiated a traffic stop on James E. Taylor, 67, Washington, and detected an odor of alcoholic beverages and signs of impairment. Taylor was taken to the Daviess County Jail, where Trooper Wier found that Taylor was in fact intoxicated, having an alcohol level of .106%.
While being processed at the jail, a search of Taylor revealed that he was carrying 30 Adderall pills in a plastic bag. Adderall is a Schedule II controlled substance. Taylor was lodged in the Daviess County Jail on charges of Operating While Intoxicated and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance.
