Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Sikeston area man in custody for felony driving while revoked.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Sikeston area man arrested for felony driving while revoked.

Deontei S. Savage (29) of 319 Greer Street, Sikeston, Missouri has been charged with the Class D Felony of Driving While Revoked.

Sheriff Walter states that on Friday, February 28th, at approximately 9:02 p.m., Deputy John C. Caudle was on patrol traveling east on US Highway 62 west of South Prairie Street in Sikeston.

Deputy Caudle could not see any visible valid registration on the rear of the vehicle in front of him and initiated a traffic stop. Deputy Caudle made contact with Savage, who was driving the vehicle. Deputy Caudle asked Savage for his driver’s license. Savage provided him with a Missouri Non-driver License.

A computer check through the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System showed that Savage’s driving privileges in Missouri were revoked due to points on his license. The computer check showed that Savage has seven prior convictions for driving while revoked or suspended.

Savage was arrested and transported to the Scott County Jail pending the filing of formal charges by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.

Sheriff Walter commends Deputy Caudle for the arrest. The Sheriff asks that anyone who has additional information on Savage or information regarding any other criminal activity to contact the Scott County Sheriff’s Office at 545-3525, or leave a message on the crime tip line at 1-866-210-4322.

Savage remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond was set by the court at $750.00 cash only.
