In anticipation of the mixed snow, sleet, and freezing rain, forecast by the National Weather Service for early tomorrow morning, Marshall County will be upgrading from the current "Advisory" level travel advisory status to a "Watch" level travel advisory. A "Watch" level travel advisory indicates that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. Only essential travel such as to and from work, or in emergency situations is recommended. Businesses, schools, government agencies and other organizations are encouraged to implement their emergency action plans.
Snow covered and icy road conditions will cause hazardous driving conditions during the early morning hours. Temperatures will increase in the afternoon changing precipitation to rain.
If you must travel, give your self extra time to reach your destination. S-L-O-W down and increase your following distance.
