Advisory

Office of Emergency Management say's Tomorrow we are looking at about 1:00 p.m. for precipitation to start freezing

(A message from the Office of Emergency Management) Tomorrow for our area (central), we are looking at early afternoon (about 1p.m.) for precipitation to start freezing. This could be either freezing rain and/or sleet. This potentially could prove problematic for travel. Area schools will certainly want to keep an eye on weather and road conditions tomorrow as the system moves through and precipitation begins to fall. For overall precipitation totals, we are expecting about .10” of ice and 2-4” of snow. These totals could fluctuate in either direction before it is over. Once the front moves through, we are expecting very high winds to move in. These winds, coupled with ice/snow, could cause power outages. Warming shelter teams are being placed on Standby and are looking at using Coronado Center and The Church of Christ in Hot Springs Village and United Methodist here in Hot Springs.
