Road conditions continue to deteriorate and motor vehicle crashes/incidents increasing. Slush covered roads and areas of previous flooding and ponding becoming frozen as temperatures have dropped below freezing and continue to fall. Temperatures at sunrise tomorrow will be single digits with sub-zero wind chills. NJ DOT has issued a removal of disabled vehicles order to enable road crews to clear roadways and emergency services to respond without additional obstructions. Forecasts indicate a total snow fall of 4-8" with snow continuing to fall through approximately 8pm. NJ DOT requests the avoidance of roadway travel if possible. If you must travel the roadways please drive at slower speeds keeping in mind there may be ice under the snow. Those on roadways should travel with emergency provisions in the event they get stranded.
