Michael Lawson has been convicted in the murder of a well-known anti-crime crusader has been sentenced to a minimum of 37 years in prison.
Michael Lawson was one of two men found guilty of killing Detroit 300 team-leader Marcel Jackson. He had previously been found guilty of Second Degree Murder.
Marcel Jackson was just 39-years-old and the father of six children. He was killed while he was working security at a Detroit nightclub back in 2012.
Another man, Carl Bruner, had already been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of First Degree Murder in the case.
As a volunteer for Detroit 300, Marcel Jackson spent countless hours tracking down rapists and murderers, finding justice for crime victims.
