Chula Vista Public Library's The Hub to Hold Grand Opening
U.S. Passport Processing Services Now Available

The Hub, the new community space at the Chula Vista Public Library’s Otay Ranch Branch, will hold an Open House to celebrate its official opening on Tuesday, March 10, from 3 – 7 p.m. The space, located in the Otay Ranch Town Center, 2015 Birch Rd, #407, is adjacent to the Food Court. It includes a Passport Processing Center and space for meetings, classes and events. The Open House will follow a “global travel” theme, with international cultural programming, storytimes, and a performance by the San Diego Youth Symphony’s Opus Project. Passports will be processed until 6 p.m. on a walk-in basis as time and availability permits. Attendees may sign up for library cards and the Friends of the Library will also hold a book sale. Light refreshments will be served and the public is invited.

The Hub will open the same hours as the Otay Ranch Branch Library: Monday – Thursday, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 12 Noon – 6 p.m. The Otay Passport Processing Center will expand the Chula Vista Library’s already successful passport services in its Civic Center Branch. Passport hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1 – 5:45 p.m. Further information on the requirements for obtaining a U.S. Passport is available on the Library’s website at http://www.chulavistaca.gov/departments/library/services/passports.

The Hub measures 2,000 square feet. Rent for this innovative partnership between the City of Chula Vista and the Otay Ranch Town Center will continue at $1 per year with no additional costs through April 30, 2017.
